CHINA – Managers Exchange and Training Programme
The project aims to support China’s reform process and promote mutual understanding between China and the EU through the development of Human Resources. The project consists of four components: 1) management training and internships for Chinese managers of different backgrounds in the EU (this contract covers management training of Chinese managers at a first-class European business school and subsequent services such as organization of study visits, administrative support to Chinese participants); 2) capacity building for Chinese institutions; 3) Chinese (business) language training and internships for European managers in China; 4) intercultural capacity and skills development among participating institutions and individuals.
The envisaged results of the project are: key players in Chinese society use their know-how gained through exposure to the European society and economy to contribute to China’s reform process; capacity of Chinese institutions to train intercultural target groups is consolidated; capacity of EU managers to perform in Chinese businessenvironment is enhanced; intercultural capacity and skills developed among participating individuals.

METP 4: July – December 2009 / 12 Chinese managers under IFOA duty of care
METP 3: February – April 2009 / 12 Chinese managers under IFOA duty of care

METP 1: October 2007 – January 2008 / 9 Chinese managers under IFOA duty of care
Up to three internships per manager, each of them lasting 7 weeks.

PATRON – Intergenerational learning and transfer of transversal skills related to entrepreneurial management
Identification and testing of ways to transfer the skills that senior managers and entrepreneurs have developed in their working life to young entrepreneurs and managers. Practices are transferred to the beneficiaries and outputs are transferred to the countries of the partnership aiming at a multiplying effect through the involvement of local entrepreneurs and Chambers of Commerce.

European Union – CARDS Programme
FYROM – TA to Human Resource Development Fund – Phase III
The project objective is to improve the microeconomic capability of the economy and contribute to improving the competitiveness of local companies. The project consists of 4 main components: 1) assistance to the enterprise managers for upgrading their skills and knowledge in international marketing, export and business partnering; 2) enhance the capacity of well-trained, market-oriented practitioners to deliver training and other services to the business sector in subjects that will be identified during the inception phase; 3) support networking between enterprise managers and between trainers, consultants and relevant public, semi-public and private institutions; 4) assistance for strengthening and development of the HRDF Institution.
Target groups: managers from privately owned enterprises within production and high value added services enterprises e.g. within IT, distribution and tourism; professional training providers and consultants engaged in the field of management training and development or enterprise development.

Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policy Programme
ARGENTINA – START: Development of Management skills for young managers belonging to the Italian community
The programme’s overall objective is to develop and strengthen, in the local public administration of Buenos Aires area as well as in the employer’s organization involved in the economic development of the country: cultural level in local development; management skills involved in socio-economic processes; the building up/set-up of Centres supporting local development and territorial promotion; SMEs tools and strategies through brand, product and district policies. START project will effectively support the public administration through training and consultancy services for 60 young managers. An internship of 10 months will follow.

ARMENIA – Support to the Development of an Integrated VET System
The programme’s overall objective was to support the Armenian government, through the Ministry of Education, in the development of a high quality VET system contributing to an increased participation of the graduates and the workforce in the change process and resulting in better perspectives for their economic and working life. The project was organised along three components corresponding to the project targets: 1. Improved quality and relevance of VET policy and strategy; 2. Improved quality of VET institutions; 3. Improved capacity to respond to employment and labour market needs.
The results to achieve were for Component 1: National policy and strategy developed, policy makers trained; Component 2: A sustainable national VET network established, university pedagogical programme for VET teachers developed, national policy and strategy for VET pre- and in-service teacher training developed; Component 3: Regional competencies in labour market matters created, new curricula and standards developed and implemented.

NIS COUNTRIES (Russian Federation, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Belarus) – Managers’ Training Programme III
The programme’s overall objective was to strengthen management quality and efficiency in companies as well as to provide comprehensive support to sustainable management development in NIS countries (Russian Federation, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Azerbaijan, Belarus). This was realized through the organization of internships for 777 managers in European companies; organization of a 4 week study visit for 196 managers; organization of technical visits, seminars and consulting activities (institutional building of local training centres).
IFOA tasks included organization of internships for 90 managers in Italian companies (2 groups for 2 months each and 2 groups for 3 months each); organization of a study visit of 2 weeks in Italy for 20 managers; “ad hoc” consulting activities.

ARMENIA – Establishment of an Accountancy Training Centre
Establishment of a technically and financially self-sustainable accountancy training centre providing post- graduate courses for students and professional training for trainers and practitioners to introduce the IAS – International Accounting Standards and the ISA – International Standards of Auditing. Tasks included: curricula development based on ACCA syllabus for a 2 year post-graduate diploma in accounting and for professional short term courses; training courses to 700 practitioners, 150 students and 20 trainers in accountancy; design and delivery of a pilot distance education project; production of 11 didactic packages (English and Armenian language); support to the long-run activities of the Centres in terms of institutional building and enhancement of financial systems.

UKRAINE – Support to the implementation of an accounting reform for enterprises
The project had two macro-objectives: a) support to the Ministry of Finance on how to implement the accounting reform through the development of new institutional and legislative regulations and the introduction of International Accounting Standards (IAS) and the development of Ukrainian Accounting Standards (UAS) in 6 pilot Companies; b) testing of new standards into six pilot enterprises. Main activities undertaken: policy advice to Ministry of Finance staff to develop UAS; advisory services and training on IAS to 6 local enterprises; organization of a study tour in Europe to accounting institutions and private companies for 20 Ministry of Finance staff; organization of training seminars and work-shops; development of ad hoc and focused didactic guides to IAS.

LITHUANIA – Development of a Centre of Excellence in Management Training
Establishment of a Management Training Centre, located inside the three universities of Vilnius, Kaunas and Vytautas, for provision of managerial training at post-graduate and executive level and related management consulting support services for enterprises. Tasks included: training to academics, entrepreneurs, academic management staff and post-graduate students in business management, total quality systems management, human resources development and marketing. Benchmarking exercise between Lithuanian and top-level European universities.

UZBEKISTAN – Creation of and Support to a Market Skills Development Centre
Establishment of a technically and financially sustainable centre in Tashkent targeting training and consulting needs of local SMEs and Micro-Enterprises to develop their business. Production of a media programme to reinforce a market oriented culture. Tasks included: training needs analysis; curricula development and production of training packages in marketing, business administration, human resources development and financial management; training of trainers, entrepreneurs and officers; ODL materials; consultancy in business planning and start-up; organization of study-tours to Italian SMEs.

TURKMENISTAN – Training in the field of economics and business management
Provision of technical assistance to Ashgabat University in order to establish the basis for new undergraduate programmes to improve qualification of economists. Key-areas of intervention included: a) strategic, administrative, financial and structural planning support to universities; b) curricula development; c) training of lecturers; d) enhancement of language training and computer capabilities. Tasks included: requalification training for academics in Macro-Economics, Micro-economics, Business Management, Marketing, Accountancy and Finance, Statistical methods. Applied research studies in EU companies for 20 academics. Management advisory services to university organizational and administrative staff.

RUSSIAN FEDERATION – Establishment of a Business Development Unit
Strengthening training capacity and sustainability of a Business Development Unit at the University of Economics in Ekaterinburg in order to: a) improve income generating possibilities for the university; b) offer qualified advisory services to local enterprises. Tasks included: curricula development and training delivery to academic professors in: entrepreneurship development; business planning and marketing for SMEs.
