Supporting the Reform of the TVET Governance System in Egypt
Location – Egypt
IFOA, as leader of an international consortium, has been invited to tender by the European Union for a project in Egypt, whose overall objective is improve and enhance the structure and performance of the TVET system and TVET delivery in Egypt to better respond to the new socio-economic needs, in particular, youth employability and increased competitiveness in the current and future development.
Specific objectives:
Support the reform of the TVET Governance system in Egypt through the formulation of specific policies and transfer of knowledge on the implementation of these policies through capacity building programme(s). Develop a scholarship model for career and technical education (CTE) and pilot it in combination with academics. The model will be proposed and validated with respective stakeholders and piloted in coordination with component 3 of the TVET II Programme. Develop skills standards in priority sectors in coordination with the Industrial Training Council (ITC) as part of the skills validation system.
A special focus on the tourism sector must be considered in all above-mentioned areas.
Commencement date & Period of implementation
The intended commencement date is November 2016 and the period of implementation of the contract will be 26 months from this date.
Location
The operations of the project will take place in all relevant Governorates of Egypt.

Key expert 1: Team Leader and TVET Governance Policies Expert (minimum 240 working days) Key expert 2: Skills Standards Senior Expert (minimum 140 working days) Key expert 3: Capacity Building Senior Expert (minimum 140 working days)
